We believe that education is a vital part of the process of empowerment for young and beginning farmers. When we are able, the Michigan Young Farmer Coalition works to provide transformative learning opportunities for members and our local communities with the goal of building the capacity of Michigan residents to make informed decisions about food and advocate for more sustainable, regional food communities.

At any event we host, we strive to build the leadership capacity of our members by offering hands-on learning opportunities to build skills in group facilitation, organizational communication, and community organizing & advocacy. We also strive to share and create opportunities for our members to take direct action in their own communities.
